Wexford farm sells for €12,000/ac

-

WEXFORD auctioneer David Quinn got his auction season off to a good start with the sale of a 20ac non-residential farm at Ballykillageer Upper, Ballycoogue in Co Wicklow. It made €240,000 at auction or €12,000/ac

Located about 10km from Arklow, the ground was described as good roadside land close to the local village of Ballykillageer.

A bid of €190,000 got matters under way and with two locals in contention, and a crowd of up to 30 locals looking on, the place went on the market at €240,000 and sold at that.

Limerick dairy land

Moving southwest to the Golden Vale , auctioneer John Flynn of Charleville will be hoping for a strong sale in the private treaty arena for a parcel of Limerick grazing ground.

The parish of Dromin Athlacca in south Co Limerick contains some of the best land in the county and is known for top class dairying.

Much local interest is anticipated in the 35ac field of roadside grazing ground being brought to market by Mr Flynn.

Located 2km from Athlacca, 6km from Bruff and Kilmallock, the field is described as top class limestone ground ideal for grazing for dairy replacements or for drystock.

The area is also known for its equestrian holdings and the 35ac would be ideal for a small equestrian unit.

All in one field the parcel can be divided as a new owner sees fit, however, there is currently no direct water provision to the property

It is for sale by private treaty and comes with a guide price of €10,000 to €12,000/ac.
