IRISH country star Niamh Lynn has been making her mark at home and abroad with her ‘ Tribute to the Classic Ladies of Country’ show.
The singer, originally from Dublin’s Castleknock and now living in Mullagh, Co Cavan, has been hugely influenced by the golden country songs of American female legends like Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Billie Jo Spears.
But her brand new single, ‘Havin’ A Ball’, is a self-penned song that showcases her own songwriting talent.
Niamh has also released a video for the single and it features a cameo role by one of her famous fans, none other than Daniel O’Donnell! Check it out on YouTube.
Daniel was impressed by Niamh after she performed on the Opry show on TG4 last year, which he hosts.
“Niamh is an excellent singer with a great stage presence and she has her own ‘look’ that stands out on the country music scene,” Daniel says. Her 1950s-style dresses complement Niamh’s music style and go down a treat with her female fan base at live shows.
She went to No.1 in the iTunes country charts and No.7 in the mainstream charts with her 2016 debut album, An Old Fashioned Song.
The album features 11 country classics like ‘Sing Me An Old Fashioned Song’, ‘Blue Bayou’, ‘Always’, plus an original called ‘I’m Missing You’, written by Declan Quinn.
Among her career highlights has been a star spot on The Country Rende-Vouz in France with the legendary Emmylou Harris, and the Harvest festival in Ireland with Charley Pride.
Niamh, who also performed on the recent Late Late Show Country Special, has a busy summer coming up performing her Classic Ladies of Country show in theatres around Ireland and the UK, as well as appearances at festivals in Denmark, Austria, Germany and Holland.
