Jarre’s ‘best’ out of this world

-

HE’S one of the first artists in the world to perform electronic music as we know it today, and French pioneer JeanMichel Jarre ( right) will celebrate 50 years at the forefront of the genre with the release of a ‘best of’ album, Planet Jarre, on September 14.

A truly unique composer and performer, Jarre is a 2017 Grammy nominee, with more than 80 million albums sold throughout his career, a four-time Guinness World Record holder for the largest concerts ever performed, and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambas- sador renowned for his oneoff ground-breaking events at historical landmarks across the globe.

The 41 works from his extensive music catalogue have been hand-picked by Jarre himself and completely remastered to add a new and sparkling freshness to the sound of the package.

Long and familiar ambient tracks like ‘Oxygène 1’, ‘Equinoxe 2’ and ‘Chronology 1’ seamlessly follow newer pieces like the original tracks off Electronica – The Heart of Noise.
