BAKE FOR BERRY

-

ARE you a top-class home baker? Does your Victoria sponge has what it takes to tantalise the masses? Or does your apple tart leave neighbours talking for months – for all the right reasons?

Well, if so the National Dairy Council (NDC) is interested in you! The NDC is hosting former The Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry at its stand at the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Co Offaly.

The NDC is launching a competition inviting home bakers to create something delicious which includes dairy ingredients to be served at afternoon tea with Mary.

Each finalist will receive a €300 voucher for Ballymaloe Cookery School and an afternoon tea hamper filled with goodies, free entry into the Ploughing and the chance to have afternoon tea with Mary.

Speaking about the competition Mary said: “It must be the very best of Irish dairy produce and the best of its type, whether that’s a quiche, tart or cake – we don’t want to see curdled custard or separated filling.”

The closing date to enter is August 10; for more information visit ndc.ie.
