ESSENTIAL VIEWING FOR CONTRACTORS
THERE was some big news in terms of new tractor ranges unveiled at the Kilkenny event, including the new three-model T7 S Essential range, which is now available in Ireland.
Tim Lowden, Tractor Specialist for New Holland for Ireland and the UK, said the T7 S range is being introduced to meet the needs of farming and contracting businesses that require leading performance and economy in a more affordable package.
He said the three-model provides an economic alternative to a pre-owned machine in the same power class.
So where do these new tractors fall in terms of power brackets? The T7.165 S, T7.195 S and T7.215 S offer max power of 165, 190 and 210hp respectively, powered by FTP Industrial’s proven Tier 4B-compliant six cylinder engines.
In terms of transmission, the T7.165 S is fitted with New Holland’s 18x6 40kph range command semi-power shift box, meaning it is suited to livestock and mixed applications such as driving high-capacity mixer wagons, as well as the versatility for duties including mowing, baling, loading, clamp building and transport.
RUGGED
Available loader-ready, with a wheelbase of 2,734mm, the T7.165 S comes fitted with New Holland’s high-specification Horizon cab in high or low roof specifications.
Set on a longer wheelbase of 2,884mm, Mr Lowden said the bigger T7.195 S and T7.215 S models are designed for more intensive use, featuring New Holland’s 18x6 40kph Power Command full-power shift transmission.
Both models offer rugged dependability and are suited to contractor fleets.
For loader work, the T7 S range comes with strong hydraulic flow, electronic loader joystick, automatic four-wheel drive, and the option of the Custom Steer feature to deliver shorter loader cycle times and reduced steering wheel rotations.
T7 S models are available to order from New Holland dealers in the UK and Ireland.
New T6 range
Available to test drive at the Kilkenny event was the new T6 Dynamic Command (DC) tractor with an eight step semi-power shift transmission.
Visitors to the event were able to sit in a ground-based tractor cab that was linked to a raised T6 DC tractor and activate the controls in a safe environment.
Product specialists were on hand to explain the key features and benefits.
Offering between 145 and 175hp with engine power management and the lowest fuel consumption levels of a four-cylinder tractor, the T6 Dynamic Command models are likely to sell well amongst Irish farmers in the coming years.
The T6.145, T6.155, T6.165 and T6.175 models are the only tractors in this mid-range segment to feature an 8-step semi-power shift transmission.
