Farms on the double in north Tipperary

- Storm Powell

NENAGH-BASED auctioneer William Talbot has two land auctions coming up for sale before the end of the month.

A non-residential 60ac holding at Rodeen (pictured above) will be offered in one block at a guide price of €339,500 or circa €6,600 per acre.

The property is situated about 6km from Borrisokane, Co Tipperary, and is a mix of medium quality and summer grazing.

The lands are all in pasture and contained in 12 fields. They are set back from the public road from which there is access and there is also a farm service road.

The Ballyfinboy River bounds the northern boundary, so there is an ample water supply and the property is well fenced.

This land has been leased over the past number of years and has been well maintained.

“This is an attractive stand- alone piece of land and there has been local farming interest and, also, enquiries from further afield,” says Mr Talbot.

“Land has been selling quite well even though we have had a wet start to the year.”

The sale will take place by public auction on March 27 at 4pm at the Sherry Fitzgerald Talbot salesrooms, Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Mr Talbot is also selling circa 17ac in three separate divisions in the townlands of Lisheenboy, Drum and Cloonawillin near Borrisokane. This non-residential holding will be offered in one to three lots.

The lands have been carefully farmed and have external road frontage with potential for site development. Lot 1 at Lisheenboy comprises 9.35ac of grazing land and has road frontage on the Borrisokane/ Portumna road.

Lot 2 at Drum, comprising 3.14ac of medium quality land, also has good road frontage. Lot 3 is a 5.12ac plot at Cloonawillin.

The auctioneer estimates that the three lots will average between €8,000 to €10,000 per acre.

This sale will take place by public auction on March 27 at 5.15pm in the Sherry Fitzgerald Talbot salesrooms, Nenagh.
