Celebrity MasterChef
BBC1, 9pm
With its dramatic music and breathless fry-offs, ‘MasterChef ’ sometimes makes a cooking contest look like a ‘Mission Impossible’ movie. But it is irresistibly entertaining, and in this celebrity version, 20 well-known faces will compete for the ‘MasterChef ’ title over the coming weeks. Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, dancer Arlene Phillips, broadcaster Yvette Fielding, singers Mica Paris and Kimberly Wyatt and actors Amanda Donohoe, Sheree Murphy and Trish Potter are among the stars hoping to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace, who’ll put them through their paces in the invention test before exposing them to the high pressure environment of a busy professional kitchen.
