Art exhibition on the docks

Hanover Lofts, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2

HANOVER LOFTS, which today becomes the first entirely new apartment block to launch in the Dublin Docklands in a decade, will have a feature befitting of its edgy environs amongst the tech-heavy workplaces of Silicon Docks — a specially commissioned work from a street artist in the residents’ courtyard.

The bespoke piece for the courtyard walls was created by James Earley, the urban artist behind a seagull-inspired artwork for The Gibson Hotel across the Liffey. Earley was also responsible for a mural styled on an ox for the entrance of the Oxmanstown Lofts apartment block in Smithfield Square.

The developer behind both Hanover Lofts and Oxmanstown Lofts is the Dublin Loft Company, run by Mark and Andrew Cosgrave, sons of Peter Cosgrave of Cosgrave Group fame.

The Dublin Loft Company’s latest boutique scheme off Hanover Street East is a five-storey building with a large entrance lobby and parking at ground level and 15 apartments on the four upper floors.

The development has 11 two-bed apartments and four one-beds. Each apartment comes with a designated parking space equipped with a socket for an electric car and has a bicycle space. All the units have a balcony made from steel and concrete, with glazed powder-coated balustrades and composite decking.

The apartments at Hanover Lofts have energy-efficient features such as a gas-condensing boiler for the central heating and a heat recovery ventilation system, both of which contribute to the homes’ A3 BER.

Prices start at €415,000 for a 597 sq ft one-bed apartment and at €575,000 for a two-bed, where sizes range from 936 sq ft to 1,107 sq ft.

Viewings at Hanover Lofts start today, from 12pm-3pm, and continue tomorrow and Sunday, from 2.30pm-4.30pm.
