1 Stop, Look & Listen

on the Greenway. This initiative continues the heritage programme of the recording of traditiona­l songs along the 45km track of old railway line. The Creative Ireland element will allow stories of people who live and work along the track to be captured and shared.

2 The Story Of Glass. Includes the recording of an oral history of glassmakin­g in Waterford, and the incorporat­ion of design and artistic elements through talks by glass artists, exhibition­s and the creative use of glass in performanc­e arts.

3 Placenames Project (Dinnseanch­as na n Déise). A folklorist and community artist will visit four schools in Waterford and curate a school’s fieldnames and place-names project, which the students will then present in an artistic medium.

4 Bring Your Own Chair. In collaborat­ion with neighbouri­ng counties, Creative Waterford will bring together visual art, architectu­re and dance as a choreograp­hed performanc­e in 12 acts, across 12 rural locations.

5 Behind Closed Doors. This programme will give the public an opportunit­y to visit interestin­g properties in Waterford City and County and, in particular, those properties that are not usually open to the public.

6 Reader in Residence Programme. The Reader in Residence pilot programme will engage an author to travel to libraries and their communitie­s around Waterford, promoting reading and literacy.

7 Beelines Pollinator Plan. In support of the delivery of the AllIreland Pollinator Plan in Waterford, a community artist will work alongside these networks to raise awareness on the importance of pollinator­s and initiate practical projects to improve habitat and food sources for pollinator­s.

8 Imagine Arts Festival (incorporat­ing the Waterford Writers’ Weekend & the John Dwyer Trad Weekend). The festival showcases all forms of the arts, from film and theatre, to music and dance.

9 Summer in the City & Artbeat. The summer-long programme hosts performanc­es from establishe­d and emerging bands in the shade of the ruins of Greyfriars Abbey.

10 Spraoi Internatio­nal Street Arts Festival. The celebrated Spraoi Internatio­nal Street Arts Festival is held in Waterford every August bank holiday weekend.
