SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREVIEWS

- DANIEL MCDONNELL

BOHEMIANS v DERRY

Dalymount Park (7.45) League Form: Bohs DDWLL, Derry WLLWL Match Odds: Bohs 5/2, Derry 11/10, Draw 23/10 Referee: R Hennessey (Westmeath)

Team News: Bohs skipper Derek Pender is still out with a hamstring problem while Rob Cornwall is banned, so Warren O’Hora should come into the side having recovered from injury. Derry welcome firstchoice defenders Aaron Barry and Conor McDermott back into their squad but Harry Monaghan has to sit this one out.

Talking Point: Derry have lost their way a bit since a drubbing in Europe – save for a win over a poor Sligo Rovers side – and they need to get their act together if they are to qualify for that stage again. Bohs need a couple of wins to be clear of trouble.

Verdict: Draw ST PAT’S v BRAY Richmond Park (7.45) League Form: St Pat’s LDDLW, Bray LWWLL Match Odds: St Pat’s 13/10, Bray 2/1, Draw 12/5 Referee: N Doyle (Dublin)

Team News: The Saints are still without the suspended Owen Garvan while Gavin Peers and Darren Dennehy are unavailable through injury. Bray boss Harry Kenny is pretty much at full strength with Anto Flood back in training during the week.

Talking Point: Gerry Mulvey has taken over as Bray interim chairman amid some confident rumblings about the financial situation. It’s still up in the air, though, and is a distraction for the squad whereas St Pat’s have a clear focus. This is an opportunity for them if they keep Gary McCabe, a player they want to sign from Bray, quiet. Verdict: Home win GALWAY v DROGHEDA Eamonn Deacy Park (7.45)

League Form: Galway DLLDW, Drogheda LLLLD

Match Odds: Galway 8/13, Drogheda 9/2, Draw 14/5 Referee: J McKell (Tipperary)

Team News: Galway are minus Maurice Nugent (hip) and Gary Kinneen (hamstring) while manager Shane Keegan is trying to convince Mikey Drennan to return to the senior game. Drogheda have signed Chris Mulhall in the week where Sean Thornton retired. They are without the injured Ciaran McGuigan, Kevin Farragher, Richie Purdy, Gavin Brennan and Ryan Masterson, while Sean Brennan is a doubt.

Talking Point: It’s difficult to see both of these sides staying up. This is a real six-pointer and if Galway are to steer clear of the drop they need full points from home fixtures against rivals.

Verdict: Home win
