12.35am The car crashes into a house in nearby Derrykearn , approximately 9km away. A firearm is discharged at a homeown er an d their vehicle stolen .

12.40am The stolen vehicle crashes 2km from the house on the R430 in the direction of Abbeyleix. Gardaí arrest a man in his 30s.
