McNally Family Farm Bio Yoghurt with Raspberry Compote, 220g, €1.50, 9/10
You’ll find this delicious yoghurt at the McNally Family’s stalls in the weekly farmers’ markets at Leopardstown, Temple Bar and Dun Laoghaire. Made with pasteurised organic milk, it has a lovely texture and tart flavour, while the compote on top has just the right amount of sugar. No nutritional info given.
Aldi Specially Selected Handmade Raspberry Yoghurt, 140g, 75C, 9/10
Aldi’s yoghurt comes in a cute glass jar and is made in Ireland without any artificial additives or preservatives. The yoghurt has excellent flavour and texture, and there is also a generous layer of raspberry at the bottom. 110 calories per 100g.
Glenilen Farm Raspberry & Natural Live Yoghurt, 160g, €1, 8/10
Glenilen’s raspberry and natural live yoghurt also comes in a large family-size plastic pot, but this single serving is in an attractive glass jar. Made on the Kingston Family’s farm in West Cork, this is not quite as creamy as some of the other yoghurts we tested. Nicely balanced and not too sweet. 87 calories per 100g.
SuperValu Signature Tastes Sun Ripened Raspberry Yoghurt, 150g, 69C, 7/10
This SuperValu yoghurt is made in West Cork and is quite rich-tasting thanks to the addition of cream — which makes up 14pc of the ingredients — and also quite sweet. At 151 calories per 100g, it’s the most calorific of the yoghurts that we tested.
Dunnes Simply Better Raspberry & Pomegranate Yoghurt, 150g, 89c, 6/10
This yoghurt is made in West Cork using Irish cream. Our testers felt the pomegranate overpowered the raspberry, but it’s not unpleasant. 145 calories per 100g.
Lidl Coolree Irish Raspberry Yoghurt, 125g, 39C, 2/10
Very sweet. Our testers found it impossible to tell what the fruit was supposed to be. 88 calories per 100g.
