Lower prices the big lure in second phase

St Helen’s, Adamstown, Co Dublin

-

ST HELEN’S, a new development in Adamstown, offers that rarity that is a three-bed home in Co Dublin for less than €300,000. Small wonder, then, that the €290,000 terraced houses among the second tranche released last weekend were immediately bagged by first-time buyers.

The second phase of the scheme consists of 41 three and four-bed homes, 34 of which have gone sale agreed. Among the remaining seven properties are three-beds priced from €340,000 and four-beds selling for €365,000.

St Helens will have 135 three- and four-bed homes when eventually completed, and will be flanked by two parks.

The neighbourhood is the first planned town in Ireland since Shannon was built in the 1960s, having been designated as a strategic development zone back in 2003 to enable developers secure fast-track planning to build homes in tandem with the creation of infrastructure such as community facilities and a rail station. The town’s progress was stymied by the property crash but is gradually coming back on track.

St Helen’s is just 550m from Adamstown train station, which opened in 2007, as well as schools and a creche. The rail journey to Heuston Station takes 20 minutes.

Viewings take place tomorrow and Sunday, between 2pm and 4pm. Enquiries to: Savills (New Homes), (01) 6181300 or Leahy Residential (01) 6011800
