Rathborne is an easy walk away from Ashtown train station

BUYERS who like the idea of living moments away from the picturesque Royal Canal at Ashtown in Dublin 15 will need to clear their diaries this weekend as the first phase of Rathborne Park is launched.

The brand new scheme is being developed by award-winning Castlethorn, and this first phase includes 35 attractive houses. These are three and four-bedroom family homes of spacious proportions, and are likely to suit both first time buyers and those trading up.

Proximity to the city centre, which is just 6km away, will be a significant draw for purchasers. Equally attractive is the fact that the development is within very easy walking distance of Ashtown train station, providing quick and easy access to the city centre.

Designed by award-winning architects O’Mahony Pike, Rathborne Park offers a variety of house types and has something to suit all kinds of buyers. Sizes range from 1,104 sq ft to 1,392 sq ft and all homes boast an A3 BER rating for increased comfort and reduced energy consumption.

Castlethorn is also including kitchen appliances for purchasers who sign contracts within 28 days, which should prove very attractive to purchasers, while the helpto-buy incentive (for which the scheme is registered) is available for qualifying first-time buyers.

New residents at Rathborne Park, which sits just off the Navan road, will benefit from the wide range of well-established facilities. These include a number of shops anchored by Supervalu in nearby Rathborne village, adjoining Ashtown rail station.

The fact that there is a school and a crèche in Rathborne will appeal hugely to young families looking for convenience on their doorstep. The same kind of buyers will also be glad to know that the development overlooks a two-acre open space including a playground. The developers say construction at Rathborne is due to commence on 1st October, with the first phase due for completion around May-June 2018.

According to Elaine Smart of Savills New Homes, prices start from €320,000 for the 1,104 sq ft three-bedroom mid-terrace property. The larger three-bedroom end of terrace homes, meanwhile, are 1,258 sq ft and priced from €360,000, and there is also a limited selection of four-bedroom detached homes from 1,392 sq ft starting from €415,000.

The launch of Rathborne Park takes place this Saturday (16th September) between 2pm and 4pm, and Sunday (17 th September) between 11am and 1pm.
