Baa-Baastakeon Tonga in Thomond

MUNSTER fans are in for another feast of attacking rugby this November as some of the world’s finest rugby players will grace Thomond Park in what promises to be a festival to remember.

One of world rugby’s most famous touring sides, the Barbarians, have been lined up to take on a Tongan side that could include the likes of Ben Tameifuna, Siale Piutau and Nafi Tuitavake, which should set pulses racing on game day.

The Baa-Baas have featured players from more than 30 international sides in their esteemed history and have drawn crowds the world over for their exciting brand of running rugby.

In bringing to a close an autumn tour that also sees them take on Australia and New Zealand, expect thrill-a-minute rugby in Limerick when they take on Tonga, another side famed for their expansive style and deft skill-set.

The game sees the Barbarians return to Thomond Park for the first time since defeating an Ireland XV there in the summer of 2015.

That night, two tries from Welsh winger Alex Cuthbert and a third from Zane Kirchner gave the Barbarians a surprise 22-21 win over Ireland.

The Barbarians take on Tonga in Limerick on Friday, November 10, with kick-off pencilled in for 7.30pm.

On the corresponding weekend last season, Munster claimed a memorable 27-14 victory over the Maori All Blacks in front of a sell-out crowd of 25,600 at Thomond Park.

Adult tickets are priced from €15, while family tickets, which will gain two adults and two juniors entry, can be purchased from €40.
