Who says pre-season games don’t count? Scully was excellent in the O’Byrne Cup last January at a time when Dublin were without all of their top stars and made a case which enabled him to force his way into the starting line-up in more competitive times. Replaced by Paul Flynn in the third quarter against Tyrone, he had put in a lot of good work.
