KEN DOHERTY, who celebrates his 48th birthday tomorrow, bowed out in the third round of the Indian Open in Vishakhapatnam, going down 4-3 to world No 66 Zhang Anda.

Chinese teenager Xu Si whitewashed David Gilbert 4-0 to reach the semi-finals.

Defending champion Anthony McGill also recorded a straightforward victory, defeating Zhang Anda 4-0, while John Higgins saw off Liam Highfield 4-0.
