Teen rushed to hospital after shooting in north Dublin

A TEENAGER was rushed to hospital last night after being shot in a north Dublin park.

The incident occurred in an open area of Darndale Park at around 10pm.

According to gardai, the

18-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.

He was treated at the scene by Emergency Services personnel and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in an ambulance.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatenin­g.

Gardai are investigat­ing the possibilit­y that the teenager may have been involved in a local dispute.

Officers remained at the scene in the hours that followed the shooting and an investigat­ion is now under way.

“Gardaí in Coolock are appealing for informatio­n following a shooting incident in Darndale,” said a spokespers­on.

“No arrests have been made to date and inquiries are ongoing.”
