Must haves
BIRD IN THE BUSH
Designed by British wildlife artist and printmaker Robert Gillmor, the Partridge in a Pear Tree cushion shows a good balance of nature and romance in retro autumn colours. It costs about €28 from welovecushions.co.uk.
SHOW YOUR STRIPES
With bold black and white stripes that contrast with a warm gold lining, the versatile Circus Stripes lampshade can be fitted on to a ceiling pendant, a table or floor lamp. It costs around €44 from lovefrankie.com.
STRIP THE WILLOW
Kathleen McCormick’s handwoven log baskets (€110 to €180) will be among the homeware treats at the Ballymaloe Craft Fair, which runs on November 18 and 19 in Shanagarry, East Cork. Entrance is €3, see ballymaloefestivals.ie.
ANIMAL MAGIC
This dapper gorilla dinner plate (€15) comes from aprilandthebear. com. The series also includes a panda, a lion, a cat and a giraffe (with blue eye shadow) so you can mix and match. All the plates are 23cm in diameter and will survive the dishwasher.
GET HAMMERED
Copper is traditionally beaten into shape with a hammer, hence the light-catching pockmarks on this Tall Hammered Urn (€54 from marksandspencer.ie). At just over 30cm high, it will look the part with or without flowers.
