BER-y efficient build blends old and new

Airpark Square, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16

-

AIRPARK Square is a blend of the old and new in Rathfarnham, the south Dublin suburb that’s witnessed a hive of building activity in the last two years.

There are bay windows and red brick to the front of the houses, with extra-high ceilings to the ground floor, but the homes are cheaper to run than older homes in the suburb because they have an A2 BER.

The development of 23 three, four and five-bed homes is situated off the tree-lined Stocking Lane in an established estate called Airpark built in the boom. Developed by Tolmac Construction, Airpark Square is arranged around a landscaped green space and there are natural play areas for children.

The scheme was first launched at the start of June and a second phase followed later in the summer. Of the remaining properties released at the end of September, six are still for sale. Prices start at €440,000 for the threebed mid-terraced style, which measures 1,103 sq ft. A four-bed end-of-terrace type with 1,453 sq ft of accommodation is priced from €500,000, while a five-bed semi-detached design with 1,840 sq ft of living space costs from

€575,000.

All have a south-facing garden to the rear and a cobble-lock driveway to the front with space for two cars. Inside, there is a custom-designed fitted kitchen in a shaker style with brushed chrome handles and quartz worktops, all from Keane Kitchens. The bathrooms and en suites are fitted with contemporary bathroom suites and porcelain wall tiling.

Airpark Square is 9km from the city centre. Commuters can reach the city on the 15B bus.
