Former Accenture boss joins DCC board
DCC has appointed former Accenture managing director Mark Ryan as a non-executive director.
Dublin stock market listed DCC described Mr Ryan as a “highly experienced” board director and business leader who has operated successfully at senior management level both in Ireland and internationally.
Between 2005 and 2014, Mr Ryan was country managing director of Accenture in Ireland, during which time he led the development of a business that expanded its services and grew the number of employees to over 1,650 highly-skilled consultants, technology and business operations personnel.
During his time at Accenture Mr Ryan served in numerous management and executive roles in delivering major strategy, IT and business change programmes for the company’s clients locally and internationally.
A science graduate of Trinity College Dublin and a member of the Institute of Directors, Mr Ryan currently serves as a non-executive director on a number of boards including Well Fargo Bank International, Immedis, Econiq and the Abbey Theatre.
“His management expertise in business strategy development and IT solutions as well as his wide-ranging board experience including at risk, audit and strategy sub-committee level make him a very good fit for our board,” said DCC chairman John Moloney.
Last week DCC announced it had entered into the US market after it agreed to buy a liquefied petroleum gas business headquartered in Illinois.
The deal places a $200m enterprise value on Retail West LPG and provides DCC with a platform for further expansion in America.
