‘There are constantly new challenges and that creates different opportunities’
ASDEE, Co Kerry native, Mary Mulvihill, did her primary degree in Business and Marketing at the Institute of Technology Tralee. Following this she pursued a Master’s in Business and Enterprise, graduating in 2008.
At the time she found it hard to get a break in her chosen career and was working for a supermarket chain.
“During my Masters I did a lot of projects on Dairymaster because it was known as an innovative, world-renowned company in Kerry. So when a vacancy did arise in 2011, I already knew a lot about the company,” said Ms Mulvihill who’s from a dairy farm family.
She says every day in her role as a Marketing Executive is different. Her duties include public relations and event planning, and involves quite a lot of travel.
“Because the company is so innovative there are constantly new challenges and that creates different opportunities to progress my career,” she added.
While studying, Ms Mulvihill
never had any inclination to travel but now this is an aspect of her work she really enjoys.
“We get to work with a lot of different people all over the world from different cultures. I’m packing a bag on a regular basis and I could touch down anywhere,” she said.
Being able to live and work in Kerry is also important to her.
“I’m very happy in my job,” she said.
