IRISH golfers dreaming of the 2018 Ryder Cup can drive to Paris and even play the course where Europe will try to win back the trophy from the USA.

Brittany Ferries, an approved operator of Ryder Cup Travel Services, is offering a five-day official Ryder Cup package that includes a round at Golf National in advance of the competition next year.

The package also includes golf at Champs de Bataille, Golf Parc, St Malo and Des Ormes, departing from Cork on a Saturday afternoon and arriving back on the following Saturday.

Included are two nights’ accommodation on board and five nights accommodation in France for €1,073 per person, based on two people sharing a car.

The company is also offering a two-week package that takes in the five-night official Ryder Cup package (including all four days of the event), six rounds of golf at different courses and all accommodation in France for €3,337 per person, based on two plus a car.

This is the fourth year of Brittany Ferries offering specific packages aimed at Irish golfers.

Speaking of the initiative, Hugh Bruton, general manager, Brittany Ferries in Ireland, said: “There is no doubt that the opportunity to play Golf National is the big attraction in this year’s programme.

“Equally, our package based around Ryder Cup tickets will appeal to those seeking the ultimate golfing experience in France – the Ryder Cup and six rounds of golf at wonderful courses.

“Over the past three years our golf programme has certainly attracted Irish golfers. We are hoping that the 2018 programme will build on that.”

The company works with 40 clubs and local accommodation providers to provide packages that include travel, accommodation and all green fees.

Full details of all packages can be had from the Brittany Ferries Golf Desk by emailing golfdesk@brittanyferries.com or calling 021 4253118.
