Husband renews plea to help find missing wife
A MAN whose wife vanished without a trace eight months ago used their 26th wedding anniversary to issue a desperate appeal for information on her whereabouts.
Richard Satchwell made the plea in a bid to trace his wife Tina (45), who disappeared in March from their home in Youghal, Co Cork. Mr Satchwell insisted that he had nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance – and now simply wants her to be found safe so she can come home for Christmas.
“If Tina is not here I am not celebrating (Christmas),” he said.
“We sat down last Christmas Day, she said to me that morning we are going to make it the best Christmas we have ever had. It was an absolutely brilliant day.
“This Christmas, if she is not here there won’t be any Christmas for me.
“She has been my life since meeting her.
“The day we got married my life has been one long honeymoon – but it has been like that since the day I met her.” The couple got engaged two years after meeting and married in 1991 on Ms Satchwell’s 20th birthday. Mr Satchwell again insisted he had nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance.
“I have nothing to hide,” he said.
Mr Satchwell previously offered to undergo a lie detector test to prove the veracity of his account.
“My wife is going to turn back up or she is going to get in touch with gardaí. One way or another this will all come out and, in time, it will (be shown) that I have done nothing,” he said.
Ms Satchwell was last seen at her home in Youghal on March 20. While two suitcases were missing from her home, travel documents and other financial material were still in the house.
Her bank accounts have not been accessed and her mobile phone has not been used.
