Crescent chasing magical 10

- Daragh Small

OLD CRESCENT will look to make it the perfect ten from ten and pull clear at the top of the Ulster Bank League Division 2B when they travel to take on Navan at Balreask Old tomorrow.

It’s been a stunning start to the season from the Limerick outfit, who defeated Navan 22-20 at Rosbrien last weekend, which was their ninth win in a row to help them into an eight-point lead over Rainey OB.

In the top tier, Garryowen defeated Cork Con in the massive Munster derby last weekend, but they fell to third in the standings behind Terenure College. Cork Con host Garryowen in the return fixture at Temple Hill tomorrow, with reigning champions Con now fifth in Division 1A.

Young Munster remain seventh after their defeat away to Terenure last time out, but they host the Dublin outfit at Tom Clifford Park in Round 10.

In Division 1B, Shannon will look to get back to the summit after last weekend’s massive 42-15 defeat away to Ballynahinch at Ballymacarn Park. But the Limerick side are expected to bounce back at home in Thomond Park this time around.

UCC are up to fourth ahead of their home game against UL Bohemians at Mardyke. UCC won their Munster derby 22-15 on the 4G Pitch at UL in Round 9.

In Division 2A, Highfield are second going into their game against lowly Galwegians at Woodleigh Park. Nenagh Ormond are third and host Blackrock College at New Ormond Park. Cashel are away to City of Armagh.

In 2B, Sunday’s Well are away to Rainey OB, while in the bottom tier Midleton and Bruff clash at Town’s Park. Thomond welcome Bective Rangers to Liam Fitzgerald Park.
