Clinical Research Facility
St James’s Clinical Research Facility was established in 2013 as a partnership with Trinity College Dublin (TCD). It is an impressive facility which occupies a 1,400-square metre space, centrally positioned within the campus, and supports a range of clinical studies, clinical trials and experimental medicine studies. Its mission is to improve health outcomes and quality of life by leading and enabling high quality, innovative translational clinical research. The facility provides a safe and calm environment for researchers and patients and is staffed by highly skilled research nurses and healthcare professionals. Mercers Institute for Research and Ageing
In Mercers Institute for Successful Ageing, (MISA), St James’s is proud to have the only centre for excellence for ageing in Ireland. The centre is also one of the largest in Europe. MISA houses state-of-the-art facilities for the treatment and rehabilitation of older people and is a ‘game changer’ in clinical, research, education and training. St James’s were delighted to have the President of Ireland/ Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D Higgins, formally open the Institute which represented the fulfillment of a vision formed over 30 years ago. New cancer institute
A new cancer institute was recently announced as a joint initiative between St James’s and Trinity College Dublin. The first of its kind in the Republic of Ireland, this new facility will set a new standard for cancer care nationally, integrating medicine and science in cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship.
