Flawless Leinster ‘A’ aim to maintain form

LEINSTER ‘A’ travel to

Wales this afternoon to take on Cardiff Blues Premiership Select, as

Noel McNamara’s young charges look to maintain their 100pc winning record.

Leinster have won all four of their pool games thus far and in the process have collected four try-scoring bonus points.

They will be favourites to lift what is the final British and Irish Cup before the tournament is disbanded and against a Cardiff outfit who have just one point to their name, the visitors should have little problem in winning their fifth game on the bounce.

“We’ve put ourselves in a strong position – the four wins from four has been great,” McNamara said.

“It’s important now in these next two games that we get results to give us the best possible opportunity to advance in the competition.

“We feel we’ve done well up to this point but it’s important for us to hammer that home over the next two weeks.” Cathal Marsh (left) skippers the side from out-half, while former Ireland U-20 captain Jack Kelly comes into the starting XV on the wing. Mick Kearney and Ian Nagle will add plenty of experience from the engine room.

Elsewhere, Rory Scholes and flanker James Connolly make their return from injury for Connacht ‘A’ as they make the trip to play Ealing Trailfinders.

Like Leinster, Ealing have a flawless record in the tournament and if Connacht are to make it to the knockout stages, they must find a way to cause an upset.
