- Breda Heffernan and Allison Bray

DOLORES O’RIORDAN’S partner has revealed he is inconsolable following her tragic death on Monday.

Ole Koretsky, who played with The Cranberries front woman in the alternative rock band D.A.R.K., said his “heart is broken and it is beyond repair” in a statement on the group’s website last night.

The Limerick native was found dead at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London on Monday. She was 46.

Koretsky, a DJ and producer based in New York, wrote: “My friend, partner, and the love of my life is gone. Dolores is beautiful. Her art is beautiful. Her family is beautiful. The energy she continues to radiate is undeniable.”

He added: “I am lost. I miss her so much. I will continue to stumble around this planet for some time knowing well there’s no real place for me here now.”

His heartbreaking tribute comes as a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of her death is due to take place today. Dolores’s sudden death at the five-star hotel is not being treated as suspicious and an investigation is currently being carried out by the Westminster coroner.

She had been in London to record a cover of the chart-topping hit ‘Zombie’ with the hard rock band Bad Wolves and had sounded “full of life” in a voicemail recorded just hours before her death, according to her friend and music producer Dan Waite.

An inquest will open tomorrow and be immediately adjourned to a later date, as is standard practice in theUK.

Following the post-mortem, it is expected that her body will be released to her family. Plans are currently under way for her funeral, which is expected to take place in Limerick.

Meanwhile, Andy Rourke, former bassist with The Smiths and a D.A.R.K. bandmate, revealed he was also devastated by Dolores’s death.

“I have truly enjoyed the years we spent together and feel privileged to call her a close friend,” he said.

“It was a bonus to work with her in our band D.A.R.K. and witness first hand her breathtaking and unique talent. I will miss her terribly. I send my love and condolences to her family and loved ones.”

D.A.R.K. formed in 2009 after Rourke and Koretsky met gigging in the US and

soon invited Dolores to join the band. They released their debut album ‘Science Agrees’ in 2016.

Fellow Cranberries bandmates, including Noel Hogan, Fergal Lawler, and Mike Hogan, also revealed their shock and devastation at the singer’s death in a tweet, adding “the world has lost a true artist”.

Dolores is survived by her three children, Taylor Baxter, Molly Leigh and Dakota Rain, from her former marriage to ex-Duran manager Don Burton.

The couple split in 2014 after being married for 20 years.
