O’Gorman fires Ardscoil to win
ARDSCOIL RÍS have made it through to the Munster Schools Senior Cup quarter-finals after beating Limerick rivals St Munchin’s 10-5 at UL.
They now go into the final eight of the competition but St Munchin’s are out, having already lost to Bandon Grammar last week.
Munchin’s made the brighter start to the game and deservedly went ahead when Jake Murphy crashed over.
They continued to dominate as the half wore on, but were hit with a sucker punch when Daragh O’Gorman darted in for a try that he also converted.
Ardscoil went further ahead when O’Gorman slotted a 40-metre penalty on the game’s resumption.
Munchin’s were camped on the try line late on but were unable to breach the defence and Ardscoil held on for a deserved win.
