Flanagan ignites Rossies rally

FOURTEEN-MAN Roscommon reeled in a four-point deficit in Inniskeen to claim a share of the spoils.

Monaghan dominated the opening half, scoring eight points from play as they led 0-10to0-7attheinterval..

Eamonn Flanagan’s goal ignited the game, to bring the Rossies to within a point after Fergal Rafter had stretched the hosts’ lead.

When visiting full-forward Naos Connaughton was given a straight red card with 10 minutes remaining, it looked like Monaghan would hold out.

But the Rossies battled gamely, exchanging scores with their host and doing enough to grab a draw, which wasafairresult.
