Unwin late show breaks Leitrim hearts

-

NATHAN UNWIN’S last-gasp point snatched victory for Lancashire in Ballinamore.

The visitors led by 0-8 to 0-4 at the end of a first half dominated by the freetaking of Leitrim’s Clement Cunniffe and the exiles’ Ronan Crowley.

Cunniffe, who finished with nine points, dragged Leitrim level by the 50th minute, with help from Zac Moradi.

A ‘65’ by Crowley restored the Lancashire lead but they then had Justin Cleere sent off, and three Cunniffe frees put the home side two points ahead.

In an exciting finale, another Crowley free tied up the game in the 67th minute, and just as a draw looked likely, Unwin’s late point broke the deadlock and Leitrim hearts.
