A THREE-year-old girl has died following a car crash in Co Kildare.

The girl, who had been travelling in the car with her father, died following a three-day fight for life with serious injuries in hospital.

Her father, aged in his 40s, was driving the car and is still receiving treatment for his injuries at Tallaght Hospital following the crash.

A Garda spokesman said the incident occurred shortly after 8am.

“The collision occurred when two cars collided at approximately 8.05am on the R413 Brannockstown to Kilcullen Road on Thursday,” he said.
