‘Boragh’ can extend O’Brien’s winning run

JOSEPH O’BRIEN can do no wrong at the moment and having collected a pair of Grade Ones at the Dublin Racing Festival, he turns his attention to the level tonight with a quartet of runners on a seven-race Dundalk card.

O’Brien is double-handed in the opening maiden (5.30) with Tagle and Highly Approved – which was touched off in a Chelmsford handicap last month – but Mick Halford’s Luna’s Luck may be a better option and looks set to make a bold bid for jockey Conor Hoban.

The six-runner ASM Chartered Accountants Race (6.0) is the richest prize of the night and throws up a pair of hurdlers – Asbury Boss and Political Policy – returning to the Flat against some solid stayers over the 2m trip.

Asbury Boss has some smart form under both codes and if he enjoys the all-weather surface, Tom Cooper’s grey can score under Shane Foley.

O’Brien’s recent course winner Boragh Steps may edge the Shabra Charity Race (7.30) for Wayne Lordan.

Meanwhile, owners and trainers at Dundalk will have a new dedicated facility in the near future after the Louth track had a €252,000 Capital Development Grant approved by Horse Racing Ireland yesterday.

There is no permanent area for owners and trainers and the new facility will be a welcome addition, while racecourse TV sets will also be upgraded.
