Last quarter-final tickets are on sale

CONNACHT’S European Challenge Cup quarter-final has been confirmed for the Saturday of the Easter weekend, March 31, with a 1pm kick-off and the race for tickets is heating up.

Season ticket holders were given a one-week priority access window to purchase tickets before they went on sale to the general public through the Connacht Rugby website last Friday, February 2.

With a big demand during the priority window, the Clan Stand, Enclosure and Grant Thornton Seated stand were quick to sell out. However, there are still tickets available to purchase for other areas of the ground.

The message from Connacht Rugby has been to purchase tickets early to avoid missing out. Brian Mahoney, Head of Commercial and Marketing with Connacht Rugby, is happy with the early take-up for tickets and expects a huge crowd for what will be the biggest fixture of the season so far. “We are delighted that our eagerly-awaited home Challenge Cup quarter-final has been confirmed for the Saturday of the Easter weekend, March 31, with a 1pm kick-off,” said Mahoney.

“We have had an over-whelming response so far with a large volume of the ground already sold out. There is real excitement around our journey in Europe this season and there is a sense that fans really want to be part of that journey.

“Our message to fans is, if you don’t want to miss out purchase your tickets early. The Easter weekend promises to be a big weekend in Galway and we are expecting a huge crowd on the Saturday for the big game”, he added.

Connacht claimed a spot in the last eight with a record of five wins and a draw from their six pool games.

If victorious against Gloucester, Kieran Keane’s side will play either Newcastle or Brive in the semifinals.
