A favourite in Leopardstown
IT IS well known that horse racing is not really about horse racing at all. It’s about eating and drinking and hats. And at Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin 18, it’s also about music.
The Bulmers Live series of concerts kicks off there in June and the highlight of the season, according to the organisers, is a performance by the Waterboys in August.
Tickets are €20 and anyone under 18 gets in free, but as you can be quite sure no one under 18 wants to see the Waterboys live you should make other arrangements for the teenage members of the family.
If you lived at Number 16 Glenbourne Crescent, in Leopardstown Valley, you could just leave them at home and be close enough to get back in a few minutes if you needed to.
Considering Leopardstown Valley is situated in what until fairly recently was just vast empty countryside, the Leopardstown Valley estate has rather an embarrassment of amenities these days. The M50 has arrived for one thing, as has the Luas.
Indeed, the M50 Junction 15 is just five minutes’ drive, and Leopardstown Valley Luas stop is a little over half a kilometre away, near the shopping centre.
Around the corner from Number
16 is Holy Trinity National School, and there’s a park nearby with a playground, tennis courts and a walkway on which to air the dog.
Number 16 is a three-bed semi at the end of a cul-de-sac.
It measures 1,152 sq ft but there is a side garden should you wish to extend, subject to permission.
The three bedrooms are on the first f loor, and one of them is en suite, while downstairs there’s a living room and a dining room linked by double doors, and a kitchen and single-storey family room, also connected.
Number 16 is for sale for €465,000 with Hopkins Ward Estate Agents, (01)
