Mayden voyage for four showhouses

Maydenhayes, Mornington, Co Meath

MEATH’s Gold Coast is a 10kmstretch of sandy beach running from the mouth of the river Boyne at Mornington to the river Delvin at Gormanston.

It was in Mornington that Maydenhayes was launched back in 2015. The scheme, which is being built by Pivotal Construction, is named after the eponymous area surrounding Mornington’s 60ft-Maiden Tower.

Maydenhayes is being constructed in a U-shape around the 19th-century Donacarney House and its estate.

Some 100 families have moved into the scheme, mostly professionals working within commuting distance or first-time buyers.

Twenty homes were released at Maydenhayes in January as part of the second section, and 10 of those are still for sale. Prices in this tranche start at €287,500 for the three-bed semi-detached homes, which measure 1,184 sq ft, while the 1,603-sq ft four-bed semis cost from €329,500.

The five-bed semi house type, which spans 1,743 sq ft, is priced from €362,500, while a detached version is available at €388,000.

Now that four new showhouses have opened to market the second section of Maydenhayes, the selling agent has also put three fully-furnished showhouses from the first section of Maydenhayes up for sale.

One has been purchased, leaving the three-bed former showhouse, which is priced from

€299,500, and a four-bed version that costs from €348,000.

Each house comes with higher-than-standard ceilings, walk-in wardrobes in the master ensuite bedroom, a separate utility room, and interconnecting double doors linking the kitchen to the front sitting room.

Mornington is only a few minutes’ drive from the M1 and is

15 minutes from Drogheda’s rail services.

The four new showhouses can be viewed every Saturday and Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, between 12pm and 4pm.
