Commuter appeal puts Saggart on map

THE extension of the Luas red line in 2011 to Saggart, one of the country’s fastest-growing towns, has lured commuters priced out of Dublin suburbs to the dormitory town and prompted developers to cater for the cohort.

These include Anthony Neville Homes, the developer of Drury Mills. A fourth phase of the scheme, consisting of 17 properties in a variety of styles, is launching tomorrow.

Two of the houses in the latest batch of properties at Drury Mills are in a three-bed end-of-terrace style: this type measures 1,356 sq ft and costs from €345,000. There are also three four-bed semi-detached and mid-terraced houses, each spanning 1,733 sq ft and priced from €410,000. Twelve of the homes are two-bed duplexes; these extend over 907 sq ft and cost from €250,000. The lower duplexes, which have a bedroom located on the ground floor, have proven especially popular with older buyers seeking to downsize.

The upper duplexes come with two ensuite double bedrooms and feature a gabled-roof covered balcony off the master bedroom with views of the surrounding hills. The rest of the exteriors are finished in a combination of brick and selfcoloured render, with granite to the sills of the black-framed windows.

Standard internal features in the houses and duplexes include a fitted kitchen and fitted bedroom wardrobes, all from Cawley’s Furniture, as well as tiled bathrooms with contemporary-style fittings.
