‘BOLGER’ APPEALS AS A CLASSIC BANKER

-

THE withdrawal of Pack Your Case reduces the list of contenders for the GMHD Juvenile Classic at Tralee to 11 and they will contest the semifinals at Tralee tonight, WRITES MICHAEL FORTUNE.

Pack Your Case, which has been sold, was due to run from trap six in the first heat and his absence will make the task of Liam Dowling’s unbeaten Ballymac Bolger (9.27) that little easier.

There is a slight worry about the Dowling runners as the kennel has had a bit of sickness during the week. However, Liam is hoping that they will be clear of the problem today.

A trap-one draw is ideal for Ballymac Bolger and he can lead home Toolmaker Maxwel and Bellmore Jagger.

The second semi-final promises to be a thriller, with the major contenders likely to be Droopys Davy and the Graham Holland-trained duo of Slippy Cian and Newinn Blake.

The Pat Buckley-trained Droopys Davy (9.42) gives the impression that there is more to come and his trap-two draw can swing this race in his favour.

Meanwhile, news of tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Easter Cup second round is that St Leger finalist Black Eyed Peppa has been withdrawn and will be out of action for up to six weeks.

The sponsors make Borna Gin their 3-1 favourite and then go

4 Clonbrien Hero, Good News, 7 Droopys Noah, 10 Drive On Tipp,

14 Droopys Cabaye, 16 bar
