Trader-uppers the target at Somerton
Somerton, Lucan, Co Dublin
WHILE Castlethorn Construction’s latest schemes in the planned west Dublin town of Adamstown are targeting first-time buyers, Somerton in neighbouring Lucan has been designed with a broader appeal in mind, with properties also suited to trader-uppers.
The scheme, located off the Newcastle Road, close to Finnstown House, launched off the plans and from a marketing suite last September. However, a show-village will open the weekend after next to market the second phase, which consists of 45 three, four and five-bed terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.
Prices start at €325,000 for a three-bed measuring 1,247 sq ft, at €430,000 for a 1,516-sq ft four-bed, and at €615,000 for the largest style of five-bed, namely a detached type with 2,150 sq ft of accommodation.
The homes at Somerton have a combination of brick and render to the façades, complemented by high-performance PVC doubleglazed windows. There will be permeable cobble-lock paving to the front driveways and flag paving to the patio in the back garden.
Inside, each house type has 9ft-ceilings to the ground floor, a formal living room up front, and an open-plan kitchen/ diner to the rear. Most of the house styles also have a family room to the rear, where glass doors open out on to the back garden. The kitchens at Somerton are supplied by Mountlodge Furniture, and buyers have a choice of three colours for the units.
