Plumtree to take over as Hurricanes boss

-

FORMER Ireland forwards coach John Plumtree will take over as New Zealand side Hurricanes head coach for next year’s Investec Super Rugby season.

Plumtree will be joined by former Munster centre Jason Holland as his assistant after current boss Chris Boyd begins his role as director of rugby at Northampton.

Plumtree and Holland have signed three-year deals through until the end of 2021.

Having started with Swansea in 1997, Plumtree moved to New Zealand where he enjoyed a successful tenure with Wellington. He then moved to South Africa where he was in charge at Natal before his time with Ireland.
