Samcro target could depend on weather

-

THE final decision on which race Gordon’s Elliott’s exciting novice hurdler Samcro will tackle at next week’s Cheltenham Festival will not be made until “48 hours before the first day”, according to assistant trainer Davy Condon.

“I don’t know what race he’s going to run in yet (the Ballymore or the Supreme) and I’d say Gordon and Gigginstown won’t make up their mind until 48 hours before the first day. They won’t make a definite decision until they see what the weather does,” he said.

“They have Mengli Khan for the Supreme so I doubt they’ll run two in it so it’s looking more like the Ballymore but you wouldn’t know. We think Samcro is definitely our banker of the meeting.”
