PEARSE Square was built in 1839 and named Queen’s Square, after Queen Victoria, but after Independence it was renamed, along with nearly everything else in the locality, to honour Padraig Pearse. Number 3 is on the western side and has a 68ft garden where there was planning permission (now lapsed) for a two-bed mews. The current owners have reapplied. The house itself is 1,862 sq ft with two reception rooms at entrance level, three bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen and family room in the basement. The square itself is just over an acre with flowers, ornamental trees, and a modern bronze sculpture. Pearse Station is a few hundred metres down the street.
