O’MAHONY: I KNOW KIDNEY IS EAGER TO GET BACK IN
PETER O’MAHONY has welcomed the news that his former coaches Declan Kidney and Les Kiss are nearing a return to rugby with London Irish.
The Grand Slam winning duo are set to team up at the Exiles from next season and the Munster skipper believes it is a good move for the Premiership strugglers.
Kidney has not worked in rugby since leaving the Ireland job in 2013, while Kiss served under Joe Schmidt before moving to Ulster in 2015 – a role he left last month.
“Deccy gave me my first couple of caps and I know he’s been eager to get back into rugby, he’s been in college in UCC, he’s been looking after things down there,” O’Mahony said.
“But I met him a few weeks ago and I know he’s been eager to get back in, and it’s good to see. I have a huge amount of respect for the pair of them and it’s good to see them getting back in.”
