Jewellery haul recovered

GARDAÍ recovered jewellery worth up to €250,000 and arrested three men during a raid in the midlands yesterday.

Three Romanian men, who are aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested by gardaí from Laois, Offaly and Tipperary during a raid on a house at Ballaghmore, Co Laois.

The jewellery haul is suspected to have been stolen during a raid on Athlone’s Golden Island Shopping Centre during the height of Storm Emma on March 3.
