Free contraception and pill plan

THE Government is examining funding free contraceptive pills and condoms as part of its package of measures to reduce crisis pregnancies.

Health Minister Simon Harris is considering the recommendations from an Oireachtas committee which called for free access to contraception to keep the number of unplanned pregnancies and abortions low. He delivered a policy statement on the proposed abortion service should the Eighth be repealed.
