Hat-trick-seeking Nimitz can cap Dundalk double for O’Brien

- Thomas Kelly

NIMITZ steps up in trip as he bids for a hat-trick in the feature Handicap at Dundalk today.

Trained by Charles O’Brien, NIMITZ arrives on the back of two victories over the extended 10 furlongs at the venue and has shaped as though this step up to a mile and a half will be very much to his liking.

Financial Conduct also bids for a three-timer and is proven over this trip, while Elishpour has shown fine form here and adds further spice to the race.

O’Brien could to get the afternoon off to a flyer with ABOVE US ONLY SKY in the opener.

WEDDING PHOTO made a promising debut for Peter Fahey last month and has strong claims in the Celebrate At Dundalk Stadium Maiden.

The former Saeed bin Suroor inmate stayed on well for third behind a subsequent winner over this course and distance and is entitled to step forward again after only two runs.

GLENMOORE will have to defy top weight if he’s to complete a double in the Hen & Stag Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap but another bold bid is expected from Fergal Birrane’s runner, while BABY BELLINI aims to go one better than his good second last month in the Apprentice Handicap.

Joseph O’Brien is doublehanded in the Claiming Race courtesy of Tagle and HIGHLY APPROVED, with the latter going for a hat-trick after back-to-wins here recently and he also saddles IRISH MINISTER in the St Patrick’s Weekend Maiden following the colt’s neck second at this venue last month.
