Lender Carige plans to keep shrinking its problem loan book as it pursues a return to profit.

Chief executive Paolo Fiorentino said the board will discuss an important decision on non-performing loan cuts at the end of the month.

He said investor Raffaele Mincione, whose request to be represented on the bank’s board was rejected last week, supports the bank’s relaunch plan.
