SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREVIEWS
BOHEMIANS V ST PATRICK’S ATH (Dalymount Park, 7.45)
Team news: Dan Byrne rejoins the Bohs squad, Philly Gannon is an injury doubt. Sligo are boosted as Mitchell Beeney, Patrick McClean and Regan Donelon return to the squad but Jack Keaney is a doubt.
Talking point: Three games without a point gained or goal scored, and with a trip to Cork to come on Monday, Bohs badly need something here to try and edge away from the bottom two. If Dinny Corcoran can find his form they can get something against a Sligo side facing a second away game in five days.
Ref: Ray Matthews
Odds: Bohs 11/8, Sligo 11/5, Draw 21/10 Verdict: Draw
DERRY CITY v BRAY WANDERERS (Brandywell, 7.45)
Team news: Good news on the injury front for Derry as David Hopkirk, who is yet to make his debut, joins the squad. Bray have worries over Rhys Gorman and Dylan Hayes.
Talking point: Derry had a great start to life at the new Brandywell with Monday’s 5-0 win. City are in the middle of three home games in a row and have a great chance to add another three points as Bray are struggling to keep a clean sheet.
Ref: Damien MacGraith
Odds: Derry 4/7, Bray 5/1, Draw 14/5 Verdict: Home win
DUNDALK v WATERFORD
(Oriel Park, 7.45)
Team News: John Mountney returns for Dundalk who have a full squad for the first time this season. Waterford are still missing Rory Feely, and Bastien Hery and Izzy Akinade are doubts.
Talking Point: The Blues have shown impressive early-season form but having already lost away to Cork City, an away date with Dundalk is another big test. This should be a good indicator of whether they can sustain this bright start.
Ref: Robert Harvey
Odds: Dundalk 4/9, Waterford 6/1, Draw 10/3
Verdict: Home win
LIMERICK v CORK CITY (Markets Field, 7.45)
Team News: This is a test of Cork’s squad with Alan Bennett, Steven Beattie, Garry Buckley, and Josh O’Hanlon all doubts. There is a possibility that Limerick’s Barry Maguire will make his full debut. Talking Point: There are real concerns here for Limerick, having conceded 13 goals in their last three games, and it’s hard to see them keeping a clean sheet.
Ref: Neil Doyle
Odds: Limerick 15/2, Cork 4/11, Draw 15/4
Verdict: Cork win
SHAMROCK RVRS v ST PAT’S (Tallaght Stadium, 8.0) Team News: Good news for Pat’s as ex-Hoop Killian Brennan is back in full training, but Jamie Lennon is a doubt. Rovers hope to recall Greg Bolger and Ethan Boyle, defender Ally Gilchrist is a doubt, and Roberto Lopes is on standby.
Talking point: The last time Pat’s kept three successive clean sheets in the league was in March 2016, a run that included wins over Bohs and Rovers. They are aiming for three shut-outs in a row tonight, a scoreless draw will do.
Ref: Derek Tomney
Odds: Rovers 20/23, St Pat’s 3/1, Draw 5/2
Verdict: Draw
