The box set The Defiant Ones

Netflix has secured the rights to this four-part documentary chronicling the unlikely rise of record industry moguls Dr Dre (left) and Jimmy Iovine, who would together make the Beats brand one of the most inescapable in music. Dre grew up amid the gang warfare and police violence of Compton, Los Angeles, while Iovine’s father was a Long Island docks worker. With contributions from Eminem, Bruce Springsteen and, inevitably, Bono. Available now on Netflix
