Huge interest in small scheme launching in sought-after ‘burb

WITH more than 23,000 people working in Sandyford and a dearth of new residential developments, it’s little wonder that at least 1,800 house-hunters registered for the launch of a small scheme called Kenler in the south Dublin suburb.

The eight terraced, semi-detached and detached homes that make up Kenler are being built by Molior Construction, which was set up by Ciaran Deane.

He is the son of Tony Deane, whose company Deane Homes built more than 2,000 houses in Dublin, including Foxrock Wood, Brighton Wood and Kilgobbin Wood in Dublin 18.

The selling agent is Moovingo, a hybrid estate agency set up by Tony Deane JR, Ciaran’s brother.

All but one of the six houses on offer in the first phase of Kenler, which is launching tomorrow, are three-beds.

Sizes range from 1,345 sq ft to 1,657 sq ft, with prices starting at €575,000 for a mid-terraced three-bed. Two four-bed detached properties with their own entrance off the Sandyford Village Road will be released at a later stage.

Designed by award-winning architect JFOC architects, the facades of the timber-framed houses are finished in a mix of brick and render, with grey to the front door and to the frames of the double-glazed Ecoclad windows. There is enough parking for two cars in the cobblelock driveway to the front of the houses, which are wired to charge electric cars.

Each house is fitted with a custom-designed kitchen and quartz worktops from Mountlodge Kitchens, wardrobes in each bedroom, and Sonas bathrooms with shower screens and extensive wall and floor tiling. An air-to-water heat pump and an Aereco demand-controlled ventilation system have been installed in all the A3-rated properties.

Viewings at Kenler will take place tomorrow, from 11am to 1pm.
